Stylizing Your Brand – Free Quick Guide

Whether you’re a pro photographer, a semi-pro, an eager amateur, or even have aspirations of someday earning money from your photography, making your images stand out from the crowd is of utmost importance.

But… how do you go about doing that?

Well, a good way to start is to imagine yourself as a corporation.

When you think of the McDonald’s fast food restaurant chain, you don’t have to be standing in front of one to picture it in your mind, do you? You know what it looks like. You know what it smells like. You know how the food will taste.

You know this because… they have fully developed their BRAND.

To ensure that your photography stands out and is “recognizable” as “yours” it’s a great idea to develop “your brand”.

Karthika Gupta is a professional photographer from the Chicago area in the United States. She has a highly developed and recognizable brand.

She describes her brand as “Light & Airy”. When a buyer is looking for this type of photography, they instantly think of Karthika.

Our free Quick Guide this week gives you some pointers on how to develop your photographic brand.

The goal here is to help you find “your place” so that you “stand out” from everyone else.

Karthika covers…

  • How to create a styled shoot
  • Why creating a styled shoot is good for you – and for your brand
  • The steps for creating a styled shoot
  • The advantages of using a checklist
  • Getting inspiration from Pinterest boards
  • Putting together a contact list of your helpers
  • Collaborating on designs and tasks
  • Using styled shoots to establish your brand
  • Putting together a branding portfolio from your styled photo shoots

Look… even if you have no interest in turning pro, setting up a styled shoot is a heck of a lot of fun.

After reading this guide, I set up several for myself. There was something very satisfying about “creating” a photograph from the ground up… versus just going out and shooting random pictures.

I highly recommend that you give it a try!
