A significant tool for growth, in any journey along the path of photography, is to submit your photos to a critique.
Many of us attempt this by joining online forums, which often requires us to participate by “giving” critiques as well.
At some point, we’ve probably all had our feelings hurt by somebody who said something less than stellar about one of our photographs. A poor critique can devolve into a personal attack.
None of us wants that, and I’m sure none of us intentionally wants to do that to a fellow photographer.
Karlo de Leon has written us an eBook on how to properly give a critique, as well as how to properly receive a critique! Both are equally important lessons.
Here are some of the details covered…
- Understanding the basis of judgment
- What is “intention” and how to understand it
- How to use a critique to help yourself grow
- Techniques for giving a useful critique to someone else
- How to avoid personal bias
- Avoiding message alteration
Valuable lessons, my friend!
