I don’t know about you, but I am not a math whiz!
Math is a huge aspect of photography! Did you know that? Exposure adjustments… ISO… Focal Length… It goes on and on… They are all intrinsically tied to mathematics.
1:1, 4:3, 16:9, 3:2, 5:4, What?
Okay… I’ll admit it. Those numbers that I typed above. They were confusing to me UNTIL I read our new guide that was penned by author and photographer David Veldman.
Those numbers represent “aspect ratios”, and aspect ratios are supremely important to your photography! David Veldman is a bit of an aficionado on the subject of aspect ratios (by his own admission), so much so that he titled his new guide, “Aspect Ratios – What and Why”.
Take the above photograph.
If someone came to you right now and said they would give you one hundred dollars for a full frame 8×10 inch print of that photograph, could you do it? If you don’t 100% know the answer to that question… you need to read this free guide.
